Had a fantastic breakfast at the smugglers. The food was superb, the staff were friendly, and the views were amazing. We sat in the sun on the terrace and watched a couple of birds of prey catching thermals. A beautiful start to the day. Highly recommend.

Visited Smugglers whilst on holiday for a carvery on Wednesday and it was one of the best carveries I have had, food was nice and hot and veg was cooked lovely, choice of 3 meats and which was also cooked beautifully, we called the day before to ask if dogs were allowed and they were, booked a table with a high chair and was ready and set when we arrived. Whilst there we booked for all you can eat breakfast on Friday morning and it was lovely, again the breakfast was piping hot and freshly cooked. All staff were really friendly and welcoming.

Had Ploughmans lunch, plate was loaded with 3 different cheeses, ham, salad, pickle and a fresh baguette, very filling and a very nice pint of Guinness. Went back next day and had Calamari, salad and a some crispy chips. My wife had the Calvary and thoroughly enjoyed it. Next time in Dawlish we’ll definitely be eating there again. Also dog friendly

Decided to chance our luck and go for a carvery on a busy Sunday.... Friendly welcome.. and as expected no seats available inside but outside under the covered area was available. Not a problem, seated and with a lovely view, drinks on the go, carvery ordered. We were called up to the carvery quickly, and it looked amazing. All gluten free bar the stuffing and yorkshire puds, but the chef asked if I would like a GF yorkie.. this appeared within minutes so top marks there. Food was outstanding, 10/10. Probably best to book in advance if you want to sit indoors, nice atmosphere, pleasant staff, would recommend.

Always come here if we’re in the area as the food is wonderful and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. They are very dog friendly in here with dedicated areas to sit with the dogs, the owner had dog treats in his pocket and brought them some turkey from the carvery! The food is awesome, with a variety on the menu able to be made gluten free. The portions are are quite large as well, you get plenty of food for the money! The carvery is very good usually with 3 meats and at least 5 vegetables to choose from. Lots of car parking spaces, lots of seating inside and outside as well. Highly recommended, pre-booking advised.

This is our second visit . I went for chicken and bacon Caesar salad and it was very yummy . There was lots of it. The Caesar sauce was plentiful and tasty. The chef had forgotten to put garlic croutons on it and the waitress put it right straight away. My husband had the hake again as he enjoyed it so much last time. We sat on the veranda with the dog in the sunshine. Perfect all round
